The OCU has just shared its position on whether it is necessary to leave the lid of the coffee maker open to achieve a better result. “If we look at how the Italian coffee maker works, we will see that coffee production is based on a set of pressures in which the lid has no role,” explains the organization.
For this organism, the only function of the coffee maker lid is to prevent splashing. “When making coffee, it makes no difference whether the lid is open or closed,” they point out. Despite this, the OCU refers to an advantage of not covering the mocha. Coffee experts recommend that coffee on top not come to a boil to avoid a burnt taste, they explain, and keeping the lid open can be helpful to control bubbling.
