The Negreira case does not seem to be ending anytime soon. Every day new information and plots are known. And one of them splashes full to the Kings League of Gerard Piqué, who has already faced several arbitration controversies despite his short life.
The 7-a-side football competition, which is already entering the final stretch of its first split, has had dubious actions, a VAR that causes anger, referees who are unaware of the regulations and presidents who are outraged every week because they feel harmed. So Piqué, as he has told in the Chup Chup, has decided to put a little more control by creating the figure of a president of the arbitration committee of the Kings League.
Its function will be “to help the referees, so that they improve and then come here to show their faces.” Piqué has recounted that he contacted a former referee to propose this newly created position, but was refused. However, he too was given an alternative. “He tells me: Let me think. It’s not me, but I have the ideal person.”
As Piqué has recounted, after a quarter of an hour, the former referee called him again to tell him all the benefits of the candidate who met the requirements of the Kings League: “Half an hour explaining what the person who was going to propose to me did “I swear on my mother. He has been with the referees, with the players… he sold it to me spectacular”.
While the ex-referee was relating the history of his candidate, Piqué was already rubbing his hands thinking that his search was going to be quick. What he did not expect was the name they were going to give him: “He was the son of Negreira, I swear it on my mother.”
This anecdote about Piqué has caused the presidents of the Kings League to throw their hands up. “Don’t touch my balls”, Ibai Llanos snapped to the laughter and astonishment of his teammates and Piqué himself, who did not hesitate to affirm that he thought it was “a hidden camera” and hung up the phone.
