The actions in the area of ??Casernes de Sant Andreu are transforming the space into a hub for neighborhood life with affordable housing and neighborhood facilities.
In addition to the urbanization of the Antoni Santiburcio park and the Marta Mata boulevard, two large spaces for stays and promenades with green areas, are added the projects that will create, in total, more than five hundred public flats: the development of flats for young people who is starting to build now, 152 flats with services for the elderly that are about to be finished, three cooperative housing projects in transfer of use (La Regadora, Sostre Cívic and TEB) and the hundred rental flats that the operator Habitatge Metròpolis will build Barcelona.
Ninety new places from 0 to 3 years
The new municipal bressol school will offer ninety places from the 2024-2025 academic year. It will have a 748 m² space (636 m2 will be a patio) with six rooms for groups of different ages, a laundry room, kitchen, dining room, parking for strollers and a room for the educators.
Two new schools are currently being built and two more are being expanded and improved, in La Teixonera, Les Corts, La Trinitat Nova and Sant Martí de Provençals.
Industrial building: faster, less environmental impact
The building that will include fifty flats for young people is an industrialized development that will be built with sheets of wood, so that the execution period of the works and the environmental impact on the surroundings are significantly reduced.
It will have four floors, plus the ground floor, with a constructed area of ??4,895 m2, and fourteen apartments per floor organized around three interior patios. The configuration of the building with four winds and three interior patios guarantees cross ventilation and natural lighting in all homes.
