Grupo Rosal is one of the few companies in Spain dedicated to the construction of factories and machinery for the production of feed. Born in 1956 on Rocafort street in Barcelona, ??it has grown for decades specializing in this business niche.
“In 2022, we invoiced 35 million euros, an increase of 10% compared to 2021, and we obtained an Ebtida (gross profit) of more than 2.5 million euros,” say sources from the company, controlled by Jaime and Carmen. Rosal, second generation in charge of the business. “In this sector we hardly have any competition, around 80% of the feed factories in Spain bear our seal”, they add.
The group employs a total of 120 people, adding the activity of the three companies it controls: Rosal (50), specialized in the design and construction of feed factories for companies in the agri-food industry; Mabrik (50), dedicated to the production of feed processing machinery, and Rosal Montajes (20).
As the group has grown, it has expanded its production plants, which today are located in Santa Perpètua de la Mogoda (where the group’s headquarters are) and Barberà del Vallès.
Since the eighties, the company has also sold abroad, in countries like Mexico, Russia (now paralyzed because of the war in Ukraine), Algeria, Morocco or South Africa. On average, exports account for 70% of the group’s annual income.
Since the pandemic, the company wants to boost Mabrik’s activity and has invested 10 million euros in optimizing the production of its machinery. “We have seen that our devices are not only useful for the production of feed, they are also used to manufacture biomass and process organic waste, activities that have been on the rise in recent years,” he concludes.
