No one answers the phone this morning at the Kilates diamond workshop, on Calle Mallorca in Barcelona. A discreet establishment, out of the sight of the curious as advertised on its website, located in a beautiful post-modernist art building in the Eixample district of the capital.
A wooden plank covered from inside the workshop the tremendous hole that some assailants made at dawn to access the interior. A few minutes before five in the morning, the alarm went off that alerted 112. The first citizen security patrols of the Mossos d’Esquadra from the Eixample police station confirmed that the assailants had been able to steal material. And although the amount of what was stolen has not been disclosed, it is a workshop specialized in buying and selling diamonds. The district investigation unit has taken over the investigation.
The international brand has stores open to the public in Madrid, Antwerp and New York.
