Like many teachers and children, Sofía Martínez has no choice but to stay to eat in the dining room of her school. This Spanish teacher in the US usually brings food, but this is not always the case. She forgot one day and she has not hesitated to share her experience with her TikTok followers. She is a teacher and many of them have been amazed by the children’s menu offered in schools in that country.

Martínez explains that there are usually a couple of options in the cafeteria at the American school where she works. She has chosen the first: a kind of sandwich with hamburger bread “like turkey, well, I wish it was turkey”; second course, mashed potatoes; and for dessert, some kind of chocolate cereal. Also, a glass of water.

The other children’s menu option was “like fried chicken”; mashed potatoes or another option, which he doesn’t remember, as a second; and for dessert, apple compote. This teacher is the first to be surprised by the food offered in American schools to children and teachers.

Martínez ends her video on TikTok with an ironic smile and onomatopoeia: “Mmmmm”, showing her dissatisfaction with the little variety and with the type of food served in her center’s dining room.

“The menu has been made by Carlos Ríos”, commented a user. To which the teacher responds: “Flipa”. Another asks what water that is and she explains that it is mixed with some tea, but this option is only offered to teachers.

Another user does not hesitate to compare the food offered at that school with the typical products of our country: “I am sending you a potato omelette with onion and serrano ham”. “Please,” says Martinez.
