A man of about 75 years old died this Monday in the Madrid district of Latina after being hit by a hit-and-run vehicle, Emergencies Madrid reported.
The accident took place around 10:15 am in the vicinity of a pedestrian crossing located at number 87 Maqueda Street.
The impact caused the man very serious injuries and he died shortly after, so the Samur-Civil Protection paramedics were not even able to begin resuscitation maneuvers.
Witnesses to the events, who had to be treated by a psychologist, have reported that it was a large vehicle, which could be a van or a truck, that ran over the man.
The Municipal Police of Madrid has opened an investigation to clarify the facts and locate the escaped driver.
