I have done this photographic work for Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia with different images on a much-photographed motif, that of almond trees. How difficult!

The blossoming almond tree appears here portrayed in the company of the sun, the moon and a bee that I have been able to photograph in full flight.

The almond tree is a deciduous tree that knows how to choose when to flower in winter, assuming the risk of losing flowers in a possible frost, but also weighing the danger of having difficulties to ripen its fruits in summer.

Almond trees flower long before other fruit trees, which usually wait for the arrival of spring. They generally do it around the months of February and March, but it is observed that more and more progress is made in mid or late January, as has also happened this year.

El Tarrós is a town incorporated since the mid-19th century to the municipality of Tornabous, in the Urgell region. It is known because the politician Lluís Companys, former president of the Generalitat de Catalunya, was born here, but its history is even more extensive.
