I captured this series of photographs in detail of the sap of the vine for Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia in El Tarròs, in the municipality of Tornabous, in the region of Urgell.
The sap is a viscous fluid that is transported by the conduction tissues of the plant and whose function is to transport nutrients.
The transported sap contains water, mineral elements, growth regulators and other substances in solution.
Plants, therefore, are able to create their own food source thanks to the creation of sap.
In the case of the vine, pruning is important, which allows removing parts of the plant in order to modify the natural growth habit of the vine, thus adapting it to the needs of the winegrower.
