This weekend the Motorcycle World Championship is held in Portimao, with Ducati and Bagnaia as great favourites. On Friday the first event started, the Portuguese Grand Prix, of a calendar that will run until November 26. In the session on Saturday, Marc Márquez achieved his 64th pole position in MotoGP. This Sunday the race will take place at 3:00 p.m. at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve.
Last season it was won by the Italian Pecco Bagnaia, current world champion, which makes him one of the main rivals to beat. Portimao will be the stage that replaces the traditional start in Qatar, since there are works in the city of Lusail.
This season begins with an important addition, that of introducing a sprint race. This will have half the number of turns and points than the traditional one. This change has alerted the entire weekend program.
Technically Ducati has excelled during pre-season testing. Pecco Bagnaia is the reference, with the Spaniards Jorge Martín and Álex Márquez in their ranks. Then there would be Aprilia, with Aleix Espargaró and Maverick Viñales.
The MotoGP Portuguese Grand Prix can be followed live on DAZN, which is available on its platform and also on Movistar. In addition, from the La Vanguardia page you can also follow the latest news on the Grand Prix.
