The evolution of the Castellón fire during the night has been positive and neither the area destroyed by the fire nor the affected perimeter continues to increase, while some twenty aerial means begin to work over the area during the dawn of this Monday.
According to the Valencian Generalitat’s Emergencies, the ground teams (500 people) and the heavy machinery (50 trucks) deployed have helped the perimeter and the number of affected hectares not advance and during the night the work of reviewing and highly selective soil refresher in the two most critical areas.
One is in the Arenós reservoir, where the resources are positioned so that the sparks do not pass to the other side of the control line (the CV-20 highway), and the other is located in front of the municipality of Montán, in the ravine of Maigmona.
The burned hectares so far remain around 3,800 and the affected perimeter is approximately more than 40 square kilometers. Until now, it has not affected any natural area, although it has affected land belonging to the Natura 2000 Network, and some 1,500 people are still evicted.
