PowerCo, the Volkswagen Group company responsible for the Sagunt gigafactory, moves its headquarters to Valencia. It is one of the news after the meeting this afternoon between the directors of the company and the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig, a meeting that took place at the company’s offices in the Rex building in the Valencian capital, where They’ve been working for a few weeks now. For the Valencian president, the change of registered office is “another sign of confidence in the joint project” and a sign of “the credibility and trust” that exist between the two.

PowerCo’s decision is far from that of other firms such as Ford, which, although they have their main production center in Valencia, are still domiciled in Madrid, where their offices are. In this regard, a few weeks ago, it was Juan Roig who recognized that he would like firms such as Ferrovial or Ford to be located in Valencian territory, when he said that he would like both “to set up their headquarters in Valencia”.

There was also talk at the meeting of the future Campus Battery, the training center that the company already draws right next to the gigafactory and that will have 21,000 square meters, expandable to 42,000.

The meeting was attended by Thomas Dahlem, CEO, Javier Rivera, financial director, and Alexander Dittrich, director of human resources, and in it they discussed the advances in the joint collaboration of the Generalitat Valenciana and the subsidiary to speed up the entire start-up process of the Sagunt gigafactory.

The Valencian president has highlighted that the professional training center will train not only young Valencians who aspire to work in the gigafactory, but also all those interested in expanding their knowledge in the field of sustainable mobility. “The goal is for it to be the reference center for the entire sustainable mobility hub that we are developing”, the president concluded after the visit.

The company, which already advanced last week that these days would expand its offers, opened three new positions on the job offers panel of its website on Monday. Starting this Monday, they are looking for telecommunications professionals to supervise, among others, the information technology infrastructure, as well as the digitization of the organization and the operational use of electronic data processing in the company; also a senior professional for training and qualification program management; as well as a maintenance manager.
