Six days. These are the days in which the Castellón fire, which also affects Teruel, is still active. Since last Thursday, all human efforts to contain the flames, with the participation of hundreds of human troops and dozens of air units, have failed to control it. The weather conditions and the conditions of the terrain, affected by abandonment and drought, have played against the objectives.

During the night, the emergency teams indicate that they have not had any notable incidents. They indicate that the tongue that has jumped in the Montan area (in the southernmost part) is controlled and stuck to the track, and a technical fire maneuver is being carried out that is being supervised with a UME drone. Since a few hours ago, the air resources have returned to work.

The latest balance speaks of 4,300 hectares burned in a perimeter of 50 kilometers. And close to 1,700 people displaced from their homes in the towns of Fuente de la Reina, Puebla de Arenoso, Montanejos, Montán, Arañuel and Villanueva de Viver, and the districts of Los Calpes, Los Cantos, La Monzona, La Alquería de Montanejos and The Artejuela. Two more villages have been evicted this morning.

The problem is that the weather conditions are not going to improve today. The Valencian Community is at extreme risk due to the risk of forest fires, according to the ‘112 Valencian Community’. In this way, it is prohibited to light any type of fire even if authorized by the Local Burning Plan, the same sources have recalled.

In addition, this day the sky will be slightly cloudy or clear with some intervals of low morning clouds on the coast. There will also be a light variable wind that will tend from noon to the east and southeast with moderate intervals in the afternoon on the coast.
