The socialist candidate for the presidency of the Community of Madrid, Juan Lobato, has asked to stop the extension of the dining contract of the Francisco de Vitoria nursing home, in Alcalá de Henares, until the elections on May 28, so that he can take that decision a new government.

“I demand that the Community of Madrid, in the middle of the electoral process, stop the extension of the contract and not take place until elections and that the new Government of the Community assume whether it wants to treat the elderly with dignity and respect or maintain the lack of respect for the diet,” he said.

He said it in Vallecas, in statements to the media, accompanied by the PSOE municipal candidate, Reyes Maroto, alluding to the contract for this center for the elderly, which has received complaints about the shortage of food in quality and quantity.

He has indicated that “for four euros it is intended to provide breakfast, lunch and dinner” and seven months after the end of the contract, the Community of Madrid “is preparing the extension of the same”, for which reason it demands that this process be paralyzed until the elections .

On the dismissal of the director of the residence that the Community of Madrid has specified that it is at his own request, Lobato has said that it is “good news” if this change of address “means that there is greater sensitivity when carrying out the controls “.

Regarding his threat to go to the Prosecutor’s Office if the analyzes were not made public, Lobato has indicated that the Community launched a disinfection of pipes and this week they have carried out analyzes of the water in the residence, for which he has demanded “transparency ” on this data and that the analysis follow-up protocols of other residences “are immediate”.

The Government of the Community of Madrid has recently analyzed the water from the Alcalá residence to control the presence of legionella -denounced by the Alcalá City Council- and, according to the Minister of Family, Youth and Social Policy, Concepción Dancausa, “in no way case there is a legionellosis problem”.
