The family of an octogenarian woman has managed to recover her home, despite the fact that some squatters entered the house, threw a good part of her belongings (clothes, photographs and ornaments) in the trash and spent a few days in the house.

The neighbors alerted the family of the old woman, who had been hospitalized and was at her daughter’s house during these days to recover, because the squatters made a lot of noise, bothered the neighbors and it is assumed that they were drug addicts, who even trafficked with drug. For a few days, they were investigating if there were more empty houses to be able to assault them.

The house, which the old woman rents, since it belongs to the municipal housing company (EMV), is located in the traditional neighborhood of Lavapiés, located in the center of the capital.

His daughter this week launched a campaign to recover the house, both in audiovisual media and denouncing the occupation. In addition, she recalled on Telemadrid that all electricity, gas and community expenses were up to date with payments. Moreover, she pointed out that the tenant did not know anything about what happened “because she is scared to death.”

Finally, on Wednesday, Daniel Esteve, head of Desokupa, announced the eviction of the squatters. “The elderly are not touched. We are going to return the house to the 85-year-old woman who has been occupied in her house in Lavapiés,” he told the newspaper El Mundo. The National Police also intervened. Apparently, the squatters came from the squatter house of La Quimera de Lavapiés.
