Several dozen fans and onlookers gathered last Wednesday night at the doors of a popular restaurant in Madrid, located in Plaza Colón in the capital. The claim was, neither more nor less, to see Cristiano Ronaldo and one of the most spectacular jewels on wheels in his garage: his most exclusive Bugatti.
The car from the French firm that the Portuguese striker wore yesterday through the streets of the Spanish capital was not just any hypercar (if that exists), but a Bugatti Centodieci. In fact, Cristiano is one of the few customers in the world who was able to purchase one of these cars, of which only 10 units have been manufactured.
The soccer star has shown over the years that he is passionate about luxury cars. He owns Ferrari, Bentley, McLaren or Rolls-Royce models, among others. Also several Bugatti models, such as a Chiron and a Veyron, although the Centodieci is, without a doubt, the most exclusive in its collection.
The historic French brand, under the leadership of the Volkswagen Group, decided to build these 10 iconic vehicles on the occasion of its 110th anniversary, celebrated in 2019. In addition, it served to pay tribute to the EB110 model, which was manufactured in the 90s and is considered the first hypercar of the modern era. Production has already been completed by the new owner of the firm, the Croatian manufacturer Rimac.
The footballer decided to buy one in 2020 and obviously kept number 7 in the series. For him, he paid the astronomical figure of 8 million euros, before taxes. In total, about 10 million euros. And it wasn’t until the end of 2022 that he received the order from him.
Since then, we have seen images of his fabulous machine at the concentration of the Portugal team prior to the World Cup in Qatar and in Madrid, although this Wednesday is the first time that we have been able to see Cristiano Ronaldo aboard the beautiful machine, thanks to videos shared on social networks.
Despite the crowd of people who had recorded the moment, the Portuguese star was able to get into the car and leave without any notable complications, accompanied by his partner Georgina Rodríguez. However, the night was not so comfortable for the soccer player’s bodyguard, who drove the Centodieci to the door of the place where he was having dinner. The videos captured by the curious show how the bottom of the Bugatti rubs against the ground on a ramp, something not surprising considering the short distance between the bottom of the sports car and the asphalt. The sound of the blow hurts just to hear it.
The car has a Portuguese license plate and is quartz white, combined with black details. How could it be otherwise, the brand new two-seater has some impressive features. It is equipped with an eight-liter displacement W16 engine with four turbos and 1,600 HP of power.
Thus, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.4 seconds, and from 0 to 200 km/h in 6.1 seconds. In addition, it is capable of reaching 300 km/h in 13.1 seconds and reaching a limited top speed of 380 km/h, which makes it one of the fastest cars on the planet, although far from the fastest model in the Bugatti, the Chiron Super Sport 300.
