The City Council of Badalona and the Territorial Chamber of Barcelonès Nord are starting a second edition of the campaign “In Badalona we are good!” endowed with more than 365,000 euros that will contribute to generating an impact of more than 900,000 euros among the Badalona commercial fabric.
The initiative will make more than 91,000 vouchers available to citizens to exchange among the city’s participating businesses. Specifically, each user will have the opportunity to download a maximum of 10 promotional vouchers, which will each apply a 4-euro discount for every 10-euro purchase on purchases made at local businesses participating in the campaign. Thus, for each person from Badalona who makes a purchase for a final value of 100 euros, 40 euros will be deducted from this amount, paying only the remaining 60, that is, they will obtain a 40% reduction in price.
The acquisition of discount vouchers can be done online through a web platform that will be announced in the coming days, where citizens over 18 years of age will be able to purchase promotional coupons instantly, as well as find out about participating establishments. In addition, with the aim of bringing the campaign closer to the entire citizenry, the municipal council will launch a face-to-face service point, located at the Badalona Tourist Office on Francesc Layret street, 78-82, where you can carry out the process in person.
The campaign aims to triple the number of establishments adhering to the first edition and exceed three hundred. This is how the promoters of the initiative have presented it publicly, who have once again strengthened their commitment to promoting local commerce, contributing to the seasonal adjustment of demand, and helping the population of the municipality to face the recent inflation that the basket of products has suffered.
In fact, to promote its social character, the campaign will make available to all citizens who download the 10 commercial vouchers, the possibility of being able to enjoy an extra solidarity voucher to exchange in food establishments that adhere to the bank’s social action food.
The dynamics of this solidarity voucher will be identical, the user will have the possibility of voluntarily contributing 6 euros to the cause, while the City Council will grant the remaining 4 euros. In total, it is expected that more than 65,000 euros will be reached, which will be allocated entirely to businesses that are linked to the initiative and contribute to helping the residents of Badalona in vulnerable situations. The campaign is the result of the success achieved in its first edition
The campaign “In Badalona we are good!” arises as a continuation of the success achieved during the Christmas period, when more than 520,000 euros were injected into local businesses. In that first edition, a large part of the economic injection was taken by specialized stores, with an economic impact of more than 215,000 euros, where the attraction of toy stores and perfumeries was notorious. Fashion establishments also achieved a notable impact with more than 125,000 euros, followed by food establishments with nearly 100,000 euros generated.
Specifically, for every euro that the City Council allocated to the campaign, local businesses entered 3.47, which places the multiplicative effect of the initiative at 3.4. Some very remarkable figures that have led the Badalonian council and Chamber to unite alliances to make a second edition possible.
In this sense, the councilor for the Area of ??Social Protection for People and Commercial Promotion of the Badalona City Council, David Torrents, has calculated that “with the investment that we will make in this campaign, the businesses will have a return of one million euros, tripling the impact of the first edition”, in addition, he added, “it is once again a great initiative for citizens who can obtain 40% discounts on their local purchases, with the addition of the eleventh voucher for solidarity, to contribute to the food bank”.
The president of the Barcelonès Nord Territorial Chamber, Pere Alemany, stated that “we hope to once again live up to expectations and be able to offer, in this new challenge, the same speed and efficiency as in the first season”. Alemany added that the experience of the voucher campaign in Badalona is serving as an example to be followed by other initiatives in different municipalities.
Meanwhile, the president of the Association of Paseo de la Salut merchants, Núria Rodríguez, has indicated that “we are very excited about this new campaign and we are convinced, and now I am also speaking as a member of the Federation of Merchants of Badalona, ??that there will be many shops that will be added”.
