Fernando Alonso and Andrea Schlager have broken their relationship. The couple made this decision and communicated it to their followers through the Asturian pilot’s Instagram account, where they have written a message clarifying their current situation as a couple.
The two are authors of this brief statement, in which they announce their breakup; giving value to the very special moments lived together and ensuring that their relationship has not ended, although it will not continue to be romantic. The pilot and the Austrian journalist also took the opportunity to thank their followers for all the support they have always shown them.
“We wanted to inform you that our relationship as a couple has ended. We have been lucky to be able to share a fantastic time together, and it will continue to be so, but in a different way,” they begin.
“As you have probably seen, we have continued to work off the track on various projects together during this time, and we will continue to do so with the deep love and respect we have for each other. We thought it was appropriate to share this as you have always been very supportive of us. Thank you for everything”, they conclude, with the signature of both.
It is not known how long they have been apart, but just a month ago they were seen together celebrating the third place of the Asturian driver in the Bahrain Grand Prix, showing their love for each other.
The 40-year-old journalist continues to be closely linked to the pilot due to her work for the Servus TV network covering Formula 1 and other sports. Alonso, for his part, has a two-year contract with Aston Martin that ends in 2023. If he leaves Formula 1, the driver is clear that he will continue to compete in other categories, with the Dakar as his main aspiration.
It was during the Miami Grand Prix last season when the pilot and the journalist confirmed their idyll, showing their love for the paddock of the circuit.
Before dating Andrea Schlager, the pilot had a five-year relationship with Linda Morselli, an Italian model who was not uncommon to see on the circuits, since she was previously related to fellow pilot Valentino Rossi. A romance that began after the model ended her relationship with Rossi and that Alonso did the same with the one she had with the presenter Lara Ãlvarez.
