The Fluvià River rises in the mountains of Collsacabra and flows into the Mediterranean, in the marshes of Empordà , near Sant Pere Pescador, after traveling 70 km through the regions of Garrotxa and Alt Empordà .
This series of photographs for Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia have been taken in the Vall d’en Bas area, in La Garrotxa. It can be seen that the Fluvià river is dying in some sections due to the extreme and persistent drought in Catalonia.
Even so, we can see that water is still flowing from the popular Sant Roc fountain.
The little flow of water is a reflection of the lack of rain. This is especially noticeable in the streams and streams that flow into the Fluvià and that, in some cases, are totally dry, as can be seen in the snapshots.
The Vall d’en Bas is surrounded by mountain ranges and rugged ridges such as those of Cabrera dels Llancers, Freixaneda or El Puigsacalm, as well as meadows and forests of beech, oak and oak.
It is one of the most fertile lands in all of Catalonia, where the bucolicism of fields full of color and cattle grazing settles. A paradise for hiking routes.
