The Sant Andreu de Llavaneres City Council already has the keys to the former army summer house, after signing the transfer agreement with the Ministry of Defense for a period of 75 years. The objective is to adapt it for cultural uses since the Consistory wants to move the municipal school of music and the radio there, as well as enable spaces for entities. The mayor, Nani Mora, calculates that the works could cost one million euros. The mayor explained yesterday that the house is “in perfect magazine condition”, but he was surprised because before leaving the space “the army has taken plugs, light bulbs, taps and the kitchen.”

Neighbors will be able to see the building at an open house on the 22nd.

The building is popularly known as the house of the captain general due to the position held during the Franco regime by the command that held it. The City Council will be able to use it for 75 years, according to the agreement, but Mora is not resigned to continue claiming ownership of the space. “We feel legitimate owners,” insisted the mayor, who recalled that the army registered the property in the property registry during the Civil War, despite the fact that its owner had given it to the town.
