The dispute between a father and his teenage son this Sunday in a Vitoria-Gasteiz apartment ended with an assault with a knife by the parent. The 49-year-old man allegedly stabbed his son at the height of the left lung. The minor was taken to a hospital and is out of danger.
The events occurred around 5:00 p.m. this Sunday in a house in the north of the capital of Alava. As indicated by the Department of Security of the Basque Government, a caller reported that there had been a dispute between father and son, and the latter needed health care.
Members of the Ertzaintza and Osakidetza moved to the place. The victim, who had a rib wound produced, presumably by a knife, had gone with family members to the Txagorritxu hospital.
The agents collected the pertinent information at the home of the events and, after verifying that the alleged perpetrator was at the scene, they proceeded to arrest him for an alleged crime of serious injuries with a knife, in the field of domestic violence. The arrested man was also transferred to a hospital after confirming an excessive intake of medication. The man is pending his release to court.
For his part, the victim remains admitted to the hospital and out of danger.
