Ana GarcÃa Obregón has lived again. The birth of little Ana Sandra Lecquio, her granddaughter and posthumous daughter of Aless Lecquio, has managed to give her back the illusion of continuing to live after several years plunged into deep darkness due to the death of her son and his parents, Antonio and Ana.
A girl who was born on March 20 in Miami (USA) thanks to surrogacy, a completely legal process in the country; and that she became the undisputed protagonist of today for two reasons: the age of the actress to decide to be a mother again-68 years old-, and the mystery that has surrounded the entire process. Now it is finally discovered that Ana Obregón is actually the legal mother and grandmother of the newborn, since Ana Sandra is the biological daughter of Aless Lecquio, son of the actress and Alessandro Lecquio.
A process that has given the joy of living to Ana Obregón, who is both the legal mother and biological grandmother of the little girl. In fact, it is one of the things that she talks about most proudly in an extensive interview that she has given to the magazine Hello!, where she can see Ana Sandra’s face for the first time.
Ana Obregón hugs her little girl 30 years after becoming a mother for the first time. A girl who she considers “a blessing” and “a gift from heaven”: “This girl is not my daughter, but my granddaughter. She is Aless’s daughter and when she grows up I will tell her that her father was a hero, so she knows who she is and how proud she must be of him,” she told the aforementioned publication.
Of course, nothing to call her “mom” or “grandma”; the actress has a very special name reserved for when the time comes: Bela.
“She will call me the same as Aless called her grandmother: Bela,” announces the actress, who also reveals that she will tell the girl the truth about everything that happened as soon as she can remember: “I will tell her: ‘Look, your dad will tell you he wanted and unfortunately he’s not here. He’s in heaven. He wanted you so much and here you are, my love.’ I’m not going to lie to him.”
For the actress, it makes no sense to hide the truth: “Why am I going to say that she is my adopted daughter? No, I am not going to hide it. And I am going to give her all the love I have. And she is going to be a healthy girl and happy.”
The actress assures that she does not accept criticism for what she has done, and that only those parents who have gone through the painful process of losing a child have the right to comment.
“This debate is absurd, because this assisted reproduction technique has been in use for many years and is legal in many countries around the world. Many couples who cannot have children or homosexual couples or for whatever reason use this technique. But what about What scandal is this, now?” insists the presenter, surprised at how the issue is being handled in Spain. “Here it is something very normalized and everyone thinks it is very good. Everyone has congratulated me, without any further problem. From the doctors to the nurses and the pediatricians. Here there is no debate.”
What’s more, the actress emphasizes that she only complies with her son’s last wish: “What people don’t know is that this was Aless’s last wish: to bring her son into the world. And so she told us word to his father and me a week before he passed away”.
