Point de Vue, the well-known French magazine specializing in royal houses, dedicates the main report of this week’s issue to Princess Elionor. The reason is that it has recently been confirmed what his preparation will be like when he finishes his high school studies in Wales.

“Eleanor of Spain, the year of challenges”, is the headline on the cover and as subtitle: “In a context of controversies”. The photo chosen of the first-born of Kings Felipe and Letícia was taken in October in Oviedo during the hearings of the Princess of Asturias awards.

The inside report is an analysis of the immediate future of the heir to the throne of Spain, the year she will come of age. When she leaves the UWC Atlantic College, in Wales, where she has been studying for the last two years, and after the summer holidays, Elionor will begin her military training at the Saragossa Military Academy in September.

“Many hope then that the young woman, like her father, will continue her Law studies at an Anglo-Saxon university. Returning to Spain will allow him, above all, to be reunited with commitments in which he will have to conquer the hearts of the Spaniards and those who now dominate all the gears”, it is detailed.

Point de Vue points out that he will probably not be able to swear to the Constitution on October 31, the day he will turn 18. “The next legislative elections must be called on November 10 at the latest. Which implies a dissolution of the Courts several weeks before the call to the polls”, announces the magazine and explains that Elionor’s oath will most likely take place in 2024.

The magazine article ends with a reflection on the role as heiress and future queen that the Princess of Asturias faces: “From her first official steps, Eleonor has had to fight with the instability that reigns in Spain. Her smile remains angelic and her looks perfect. But from now on it must assert new assets to embody, beyond the negative aspects and adversity, the future of the country”.

Princess Eleonor will travel to Spain tomorrow to spend the Easter holidays with her parents and sister, and will return to Wales on April 16 to face the final stretch of the course.
