The actor in movies like Troy or Fight Club has collaborated on a very regular basis with solidarity and humanitarian projects around the world. In fact, he created his own foundation, called Makeitright, one of the most involved with Hurricane Katrina, the storm that is estimated to have left more than 200,000 people homeless in New Orleans in 2005. Now, as People reveals, he is has been able to learn that the actor made a deal with a 105-year-old neighbor for him to live in his $40 million mansion, at no cost.

In the last hours, the last altruistic gesture of the interpreter of Once upon a time in Hollywood has come to light. It has been revealed by the actress Cassandra Peterson, who wanted to tell the aforementioned magazine all the details of an agreement that has remained hidden for a long time. According to the interpreter, Pitt bought his exclusive house in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles in 1994 for almost two million dollars.

In this house, Brad Pitt educated his six children, who had the fruit of his marriage to the renowned actress Angelina Jolie, with whom he was married until 2016. But that acquisition was not the only investment by the Bullet Train actor. Brad bought several properties near his home in the years after buying his house. “I think there were about 22 houses that were contiguous on the edge of the property. Every chance I could, I would buy one,” the interpreter of Elvira, Queen of Darkness tells People.

As the actress has now revealed, one of those properties belonged to a 90-year-old man, who unfortunately had lost his wife. The interpreter, dismayed by his story, bought said house and reached an agreement with the old man, whom he allowed to remain installed in his home until he died, without any cost. “I know that Brad let him live there without paying anything until he died,” says the interpreter.

The truth is that Pitt could never imagine that his tenant would live to be 105 years old, that is, fifteen more years. “It was a bit funny because John lived to be 105 years old. I was thinking that when I told him that he could live there until he died, he thought that it could be at any time,” jokes Peterson now, who has once again uncovered this very humanitarian face of the actor. The actor sold the house for $40 million after the death of his neighbor.

The reality is that Pitt is one of the celebrities who has undertaken the most charity projects. So is his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie, with whom he shared a project to protect Cambodia’s flora and fauna. Pitt has also attended charity concerts such as Rock4EB! in Malibu, California to raise funds for the Epidermolysis Bullosa Foundation.

In addition, he built a complex of sustainable houses in New Orleans after Katrina – although they have not been without controversy -. This is not the only project that the actor of Do you know Joe Black? He has contributed to the city, since with the collaboration of the Global Green USA organization he worked for the construction of five single-family houses and a complex of 18 apartments.
