Finding love within the four walls of the most famous restaurant on the small screen, First Dates, is not easy at all. And if not tell it to the diners who come to the Cuatro program every night with the hope of meeting someone interesting. During Tuesday’s installment, viewers were able to enjoy different dates between single men and women with a multitude of outcomes.
Two of the stars of the night were Iván and Maritza. The 48-year-old bachelor from Burgos arrived at the restaurant confessing to being a comic artist. ”I also have a school and a publishing house dedicated to comics (…) Cartoonists in this industry are not valued,” he said. As for love, the bachelor was surprising when he wanted to meet a girl from ”b series”. ”She is the protagonist of a science fiction film, a rocker or anyone that represents something of pop culture,” he explained.
Moments later, the presenter accompanied the bachelor to his table, where he had to wait for Maritza, his date. The 43-year-old radio host was left speechless when she saw the drawing that Iván had left her. ”I liked the detail. I thought “this guy looks great,” she commented. After her introduction, the most anticipated moment occurred: their first meeting. ”Maritza has the characteristics of a B-series girl. It caught my attention,” he confessed.
The evening began with the singles catching up on their current pace of life. A conversation that helped them discover that they were both radio fans. ”We are two people who can connect a lot and get a lot of intellectual benefit,” the bachelor acknowledged.
Furthermore, Maritza said that she had a 5-year-old son and that art was not her thing. ”I was a man in another life,” she declared. ”They tell me the opposite,” Iván assured. However, Iván’s confession caused the bachelor’s discontent. ”I want a man who gives me security, but if I’m going to be someone’s mother like that, then no,” she said.
At one point during the evening, the singles opened up about their failures in love. Iván confessed that he had been with a girl for eight years. But when the bachelor told the big age difference there was, the single woman was left speechless. ”She was 18 and I was 38,” she explained. ”To be with a girl you have to have a very low mentality (…) he is very immature,” she asserted.
Iván also confessed to being an independent person and that he needed his space. ”My work and my passion take time and the person who is with me has to understand it. “I won’t always be able to stay,” she acknowledged. “I understand, but if you have a relationship you have to find a middle ground,” Maritza countered.
In the final stretch of the evening, the single woman discovered that Iván considered himself a metrosexual man. ”I need a man, man. “I don’t want to be the man in the relationship,” she responded bluntly. Therefore, in the final decision there were no surprises and both were rejected.
