Among the different guests of this special chapter, Mejide wanted to have Melani Olivares, who lived a relationship in which her partner was 16 years older than her many years ago. The actress shared with the Catalan everything they suffered at that time: “They called him a cougar.”
”I was white and young. He older and black. He was like ‘he’s got a young white, the black son of a bitch has a young white. It was a double hate,” explained the artist from Barcelona, ​​visibly moved.
He also made it clear in the emotional interview that most of the criticism was directed at his partner at the time, something strange, since haters always tend to attack women. The justification that the actress finds for this is that her boyfriend was simply black and racism is one of the most present hatreds in our society.
”We are very classy. A black person who lives in Lavapiés is not the same as a black person who plays basketball. I spent three years living with him in New York and I saw how they charged against him,” said the Catalan.
The actress told how the relationship ended: ”I knew that this was not going to work. Not because I was older, but because he bored me. There was love, but when I returned to Spain, I didn’t return anymore. I destroyed him alive. It was a failure. I behaved like a child, which is what I was.”
He also shared one of the hardest moments he has experienced in his entire life, a terrible episode that he shared with that couple: a pregnancy that failed in the last trimester. When there were only a few weeks left to meet the baby, the artist suffered a traumatic abortion. “I lost the baby at 7 months. I am 50 years old. Now I have 3 children. Maybe it was not the time. What a beast I am sometimes!” She explained openly before the cameras.
