Thanks to the Transparency Law, the Público newspaper has revealed some of the salaries of external presenters to Televisión Española who work in the public television channel. This medium has obtained the data after requesting it under the aforementioned law, a very difficult task, since the corporation was not willing to provide the information. Until the Council for Transparency and Good Governance (CTBG) was positioned, RTVE did not make the list public.
As expected, the high salaries of communicators have caused a stir on social networks, where hundreds of people have commented outraged by the money that public figures earn with just one program.
As the outlet has announced, chefs Jordi Cruz, Pepe RodrÃguez and Samantha Vallejo-Nágera, presenters and jury members of the MasterChef program, charge 10,000 euros each for each episode of the La 1 cooking show.
For her part, the acclaimed singer Alaska (Olvido Gara) earns 4,000 euros for each program that is broadcast by Cine de Barrio, despite the fact that her contribution to the format has a very short duration.
If the salaries of the famous chefs and the singer of Polysentimental Geometry seemed high, there is one person on the list who surpasses them: the comedian and television presenter Eva Soriano.
The Catalan woman earned the incredible amount of 11,000 euros for each episode of La Noche D, a program that was broadcast on the public channel and that was previously presented by the actor and comedian Dani Rovira.
In the list there are also more discreet figures for the world of television, although they continue to surprise an average worker considerably. An example of this is the model Nieves Ãlvarez, who earns 800 euros for each episode of Flash fashion.
The lowest salary of all those that Público has uncovered is the one that corresponds to Cristina Fernández, who receives 398.08 euros when she drives Corazón to replace Anne Igartiburu. For her part, the Basque earns 1,550 euros per episode.
Upon learning of the high amounts of money received by communicators who work in the public channel, hundreds of users have commented angrily on social networks, as they think it is an excessive salary.
