The fire of a truck on the AP-7, as it passes through Vilafranca del Penedès (Barcelona), has forced this road to be closed in both directions and long delays of vehicles have formed both in the north and south directions, according to the Fire Department of the Generalitat and the Catalan Traffic Service (SCT).
Ten Fire Departments are working to extinguish the fire and a backhoe has begun to extend the load of the truck, which was carrying textile material, in order to extinguish the fire.
The firefighters received the notice of the fire at 5:25 p.m., which has spread to the vegetation on the sides of the highway.
As reported by the SCT, because of this accident it has been necessary to cut traffic on the AP-7 and there are 13 kilometers of retention from Sant Celoni in the direction of Tarragona, and between 7 and 8 kilometers of intermittent stops in the direction of Barcelona.
