The Civil Guard has arrested the driver of the vehicle accused of fatally running over a 69-year-old cyclist on Sunday on the AL-6113 road, in the municipality of Turre (Almería).

The detainee is charged with the alleged commission of a crime of reckless homicide and another crime of abandoning the scene of the accident since, according to sources from the Traffic OPC have informed Europa Press, “the march continued without stopping” and without providing help to the victim.

The cyclist, a 69-year-old man of British nationality, died as a result of injuries caused by the impact of tourism when he was circulating at 10:30 a.m. along kilometer 0.950 of this road in Turre, a few meters from the Fire Station of the I raised.

According to the data provided by 112, there were several calls warning of the accident, for which reason the 061 Health Emergency Center, the Civil Traffic Guard and the Local Police were activated, who traveled to the scene of the accident.

The health services could not do to save the life of the man, who died in the same place after receiving first medical assistance.
