The Consorci de Promoció Turística Costa del Maresme has published a new brochure to publicize the section of the Vía Marina of the Camino de Santiago that passes through the region. The document explains what the Via Marina is, what the stages are and where you can find the stamping points for the pilgrim’s credentials.

The Vía Marina is a section of the Camino de Santiago network that connects the city of Girona with that of Barcelona. The route runs along the old Via Augusta and in the Maresme it offers unique views of the sea as it passes at all times along the coastline. It is also a flat section of little difficulty.

The Camino de Santiago on the Catalan coast begins its journey in Sarrià de Ter, a municipality where it branches off from the already existing path that comes from La Jonquera and the Monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes and heads towards Montserrat. The path continues through the municipalities of Girona, Fornells de la Selva, Riudellots de la Selva, Caldes de Malavella, Vidreres, Lloret de Mar, Blanes, Malgrat de Mar, Santa Susanna, Pineda de Mar, Calella, Sant Pol de Mar, Canet de Mar, Arenys de Mar, Caldes d’Estrac, Sant Vicenç de Montalt, Sant Andreu de Llavaneres, Mataró, Cabrera de Mar, Vilassar de Mar, Premià de Mar, El Masnou, Montgat, Badalona, Sant Adrià de Besòs up to Barcelona
