The majority, at risk of social exclusion due to a range of causes ranging from uprooting to living on the streets or some degree of disability. They are the kids to whom Superacció offers an opportunity. This association distinguishes itself from others and from the Administration itself in a fundamental pillar: when its children turn 18, they do not remain on the street but rather a viable way out is found for them to join the labor market.
The Llar d’Oportunitats area is not a cork on the wall loaded with good intentions but rather verified facts. This is a pilot project by Barcelona City Council with Superacció that is achieving a very encouraging figure: 75% of these young people find a job. The main tool to open a new chapter in lives worthy of a novel is sport. Thus, after the success of the Marnatón held in the waters of Formentera on May 4, the event reaches the beaches of Barcelona: yesterday, Friday, the event began with a lifeguard workshop in which Open Arms professionals taught theory and practice basic to know how to react at sea in emergency situations. The second event is this Saturday, May 18, with a sports test that covers five types of open water swimming: 6, 4, and 2 km, 4×200 relay and the Kids by Sport tests for the youngest swimmers, between 5 and 13 years old. . Before the awards ceremony, teacher Silvia Bueno will offer a free yoga masterclass.
Cristina Manresa, Mossos d’Esquadra commissioner and director of the Escola de Policia de Catalunya, has verified the effectiveness of the Superacció method in her immediate environment and will attend the Marnatón this Saturday to give testimony.
