This Thursday, with the first light of the sun and the spring dew in Les Masies de Voltregà, Osona region, I have captured this snapshot for Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia of the moment when the poppies open.

In the image we see an open poppy; another opening and two that are yet to open, with the first light of the sun and the drops of dew due to the humidity of the night.

This photograph shows us a minimalist detail or, rather, a gift of nature in this spring that is being very dry in Catalonia.

Dew occurs when moisture in the air condenses in the form of droplets due to a sudden drop in temperature or contact with cold surfaces.

Traditionally the poppy has been associated with agriculture since ancient times. And it is that its life cycle adapts to most cereal crops. So much so that they flower and seed before the harvest of the crops.
