He set a trend with his bangs and turned photo booths into the new symbol of romantic claims in the country. We are talking about Eva Capdevila, the character from Los Serrano played by Verónica Sánchez who, together with Fran Perea, built one of the most famous stories of the first decade of the millennium.

She was introduced to viewers as Lucía’s eldest daughter in the series, Teté’s sister and belonging to a dysfunctional family that would come to life as Los Serrano, a family marked by the male gender that she would have to get used to. And boy did she do it.

Despite being the dissident of the family, due to her older age and having more marked ideas, Eva Capdevila became one of the favorite characters in this series that returns twenty years later. And, therefore, also her actress, Verónica Sánchez, who has not stopped working since then.

In fact, her performance in Al sur de Granada by Fernando Colomo earned her a Goya nomination for Best New Actress, before her participation in the Telecinco series. From then until 2008 her life revolved around this television fiction, although she did not prevent her from combining it with other film projects such as Camarón, which also led her to Los Goya as a candidate for best supporting actress.

In fact, her career in the world of the seventh art during that decade was always very marked, coming to work with directors such as Emilio Martínez Lázaro, who moved her as the protagonist in Los dos lados de la cama or Las 13 rosas; as well as Daniel Sánchez Arévalo, who chose her in Gordos.

But focusing on the world of television, the truth is that Verónica Sánchez has also gone much further. And it is that after her passage through Los Serrano she could also be seen in other fictions such as April 14. The Republic, Gran Reserva, Sin Identidad or El Caso: chronicle of events.

However, in a more present time, and with the arrival of streaming platforms on the audiovisual floor, Verónica Sánchez will be remembered for two leading and highly successful fictions. The first is about El Embarcadero, a fiction in which she shares the leading role with Irene Sánchez and Álvaro Morte.

The second is Sky Rojo, a frantic Netflix drama that delves into the world of prostitution and that has made an impact by making her leave the register that part of the public still remembered her for. Because little remains of Eva Capdevila in Verónica Sánchez. But this week, again, it will be her again to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Los Serrano.
