When the godmother of an event is called Nieves Álvarez, you know in advance that everything will be fine. The model, who debuted as an entrepreneur with her own cosmetics line, Nieves Beauty, traveled to Barcelona to celebrate the third anniversary of Anara, a prestigious beauty salon in the upper part of Barcelona. Summoned by her reference stylist and now friend Ana Lérida: “I knew her work perfectly even though I live in Madrid. I was very lucky that L’Oréal – the company for which she is an ambassador – chose me to put me in their hands and we have made a fantastic team; I come delighted I really admire women with such strength, personality and degree of perfectionism”.

The Spanish top is one of the models who has best known how to make her career profitable. From Dior to Hermès, from Yves Saint Laurent to Armani, the main haute couture firms have wanted him on the catwalk and from Vogue to ELLE, from Telva to Vanity Fair, the high-end magazines considered the bibles of fashion, have devoted covers to it. Mother of three children – Adriano and twins Bianca and Brando – and separated from photographer Marco Severini, Nieves has shown that the camera on the set adores her as much as the photographer: she has been at the head of the Flash Moda program for ten years (formerly Solo Moda) and about half of them are presenters of galas and events related to their profession: from the Adlib catwalk in Ibiza to the Canary Islands Carnival. And even with such a long resume, 30 years in fashion, he continues to feel nerves: “The emotion I feel when I do a fashion show is typical of what I’m most passionate about; when I arrive at Paris haute couture, my heart starts racing. But it’s my ground. And well, I’ve been on television for ten years, I feel very comfortable in front of the cameras. But as a presenter of a live gala… I notice those nerves of “oh, where am I getting myself into!”.

Nieves separated in 2015 from photographer Marco Severini, father of her three children. No sloppiness or reproaches. A rare example of elegance these days. “It is elegance but also education, respect and affection. He is the father of my three children! I love him enormously and respect him greatly. I can understand that it ends badly if something very serious has happened, but disrespecting someone who plays such an important role in my life is beyond me. My children are delighted with the relationship their parents have.”

She has been married to Lebanese investor Bill Saad for a year and a half, and since Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week is being held, it is appropriate to ask her if she would marry again. “I do not know. I haven’t thought about it. But in life I never say no because later you find yourself in situations where you may decide in a sense that you hadn’t considered before”. With this door ajar, let’s go out to find out how they seduced her: “I am seduced by the intelligence but even more by the smile, the way of looking at life, the good humor. I love education and enjoying the moment.”
