The accident of a small plane in Isla Mocha, in the south of Chile, has caused the death of four people this Sunday afternoon and another who has been rescued with serious injuries.

For reasons that are still being investigated, the plane, which was occupied by the pilot and four passengers, began to perform erratic maneuvers after taking off and fell into the sea near the town of Cañete, just 150 meters from the coast.

According to local authorities, it has only been possible to identify one of the deceased, while the survivor, who apparently managed to swim to the coast, has been transferred in a serious condition to a care center.

“Personnel from the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics from the accident investigation area go to the place to carry out the respective investigation,” the local authorities have pointed out.
