The tension and riots that occurred during the exhumation of Primo de Rivera del Valle de Cuelgamuros led the various media to cover the news and interview some socialist and popular politicians about it. One of them was Javier Maroto, spokesman for the PP in the Senate, who attended La Hora de La 1 on TVE this Tuesday.

During the interview at the hands of Silvia Intxaurrondo, the politician made a false statement about who had decided the date of the exhumation of the founder of the Falange. To which the presenter responded with a resounding zasca, denying said information and leaving Maroto speechless. So much so that what happened has become a viral phenomenon on social networks: Internet users applaud the journalist’s reaction to correcting a falsehood.

“When an electoral campaign arrives, Sánchez always digs up someone. For him it is a way of diverting attention,” Javier Maroto asserted regarding the exhumation of Primo de Rivera from the Cuelgamuros Valley carried out this Tuesday, in an operation that generated a lot of tension and altercations among supporters of the founder of the Falange in the presence of from the police.

Immediately, the TVE presenter decided to deny the false information released by the popular spokesperson. “The date was not chosen by the Government, Mr. Maroto,” Silvia Intxaurrondo told him, “the date was chosen precisely by Primo de Rivera’s family because just yesterday marked the 120th anniversary of the birth of the founder of the Falange. And that is why, according to the relatives, they ask the government to take out the remains of Cuelgamuros specifically on that date.”

This nuance as a zasca left Javier Maroto speechless who, for a few seconds, remained silent without knowing what to say. A reaction, his silence, striking that ended up turning this moment into a viral phenomenon. And it is that, after being silent, the politician glimpsed to say, very seriously, a: “Yeah, and what is the question?” A reaction that surprised the presenter, who once again insisted on the erroneousness of her accusation.

“As you said that the government had chosen this date for an electoral matter, simply tell him that it was the family that chose it,” he repeated. To which Maroto went off on a tangent and blurted out: “In any case, Sánchez is very interested in an exhumation before the elections.”

The way in which Silvia Intxaurrondo stopped Javier Maroto by denying false information about the exhumation of Primo de Rivera was widely applauded on social networks. Seeing how the journalist had done her job, that of reporting and denying hoaxes, according to some citizens, is not so much the order of the day.

Hence “the importance of asking questions when the interviewee tells a falsehood”, could be read among the most prominent comments.
