Amar Barcelona extended its usual kitchen hours on Thursday night. The exception was motivated by the presence of distinguished clients. Bruce Springsteen did not want to miss out on the opportunity to dine at one of the most sought-after restaurants in the city before tonight’s first concert at the Estadi Lluís Companys.

The popular American singer did it with the company of the former president of the United States, Barak Obama, and the filmmaker Steven Spielberg who, together with their partners, have traveled to the Catalan capital to witness the live performance of The Boss on Montjuïc, a concert that he will repeat on Saturday and that serve as a shot at the European tour.

The protagonists arrived at Amar after midnight to taste local cuisine. They did it separately and with extensive security when Obama was present. The former president and Michelle had arrived in Barcelona just a few hours before, where they are staying at the Hotel La Florida, like Springsteen himself and Spielberg. Tom Hanks will also be staying there.

Located in the Hotel El Palace Barcelona, on Gran Via with Roger de Llúria, the majestic Amar is led by chef Rafa Zafra, who also runs Estimar. It was Zafra himself who revealed the media visit through social networks. His friend Federico Regalado was the one who shared an image of the entire staff along with Springsteen, Spielberg and Obama.

The dinner took place late, hours after The Boss performed a general rehearsal at the Lluís Companys. Before that, he went out to sign autographs for some fans who had come to his hotel, located in Tibidabo.

At 73, he begins his new European tour in Barcelona with the inseparable The E Street Band in which his wife, Patti Scialfa, plays. It marks his return to the Catalan capital after seven years when he did so at the Camp Nou on ‘The River’ tour.
