The Diputación de Lleida has presented the awards of the Pica d’Estats International Tourism Award to the winners of the 33rd edition of the competition this Friday.
The event was held in the Aula Magna of the Institute of Ilerdense Studies (IEI), the same space in which the first jury of the award met 33 years ago.
Among the winners stands out the journalist Rosa Matas, correspondent in Lleida for La Vanguardia, for her series of articles ‘Juego de damas’, reports that value the most emblematic monuments of the Lleida Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees
An article to learn about the heritage and gastronomy of Ponent published in the newspaper ‘El PaÃs’ has won the special prize, but other works on the Romanesque of Alt Urgell, the hermitages of La Noguera or the shepherd’s trade have also been distinguished , among others.
This year’s edition received 138 reports. At the ceremony, the increase, for next year, in the economic endowment of the award, which will go from 45,000 to 48,000 euros, was announced.
