A 62-year-old man drowned this Saturday in the Sant Roc cove in the municipality of Calella de Palafurgell (Girona). According to the first information, the wife of the deceased alerted that the victim had not returned to the sand after having gone swimming in the area.
The notice was given around 2:30 p.m. and members of the body moved to the location along with teams from the Civil Guard and the Servei d’Emergències Mèdiques (SEM). Finally it was the Maritime Service of the Civil Guard who proceeded to remove the lifeless body of the man from the water.
As reported by sources from the Mossos d’Esquadra this Sunday, the Civil Guard has opened an investigation to clarify the facts.
