Pedro Pascal has revolutionized the networks once again after some Hollywood media such as Deadline made public that the Chilean actor will be part of the cast of Gladiator 2 although, for the moment, it is unknown what his role will be. The artist lives one of his sweetest moments. He will soon be seen in Extraña forma de vida, Pedro Almodóvar’s new short film, and also in Drive-Away Dolls, Ethan Coen’s first comedy. He has also recently been involved in other big projects, such as The last of us and The Mandalorian.
The news comes just a few days after another name was confirmed, that of Joseph Quinn, whose popularity grew after playing Eddie Munson in the fourth installment of the Stranger Things series. The British actor will play the Roman Emperor Caracalla, a particularly tyrannical ruler. This will be his second big role on the big screen after having landed the leading role in A Quiet Place: Day One.
Along with them, the Irishman Paul Mescal will also be filming, nominated for an Oscar for best actor for Aftersun, who would assume the leading role in the skin of Lucius, the son of Lucilla (Connie Nielsen) and nephew of Commodus who at the end of the film was left as a contender for the throne at a very turbulent time for Rome
With all these names, the long-awaited sequel to Ridley Scott is taking shape, although there are still several details to learn about the next film, which comes 23 years after the overwhelming success that established Russell Crowe as a leading actor in Hollywood. The film won five Oscars out of twelve nominations from the Hollywood Academy, including best picture and best actor for Crowe.
Scott will also serve as a producer alongside Michael Pruss, Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher; while David Scarpa will be in charge of the script; and John Mathieson, Arthur Max and Janty Yates reprise as cinematographer, production designer and costume designer in this new installment. Paramount Pictures has dated the film’s release for November 22, 2024.
