Yolanda Díaz, will participate in the electoral campaign in support of the “progressive formations”. The promoter of the Sumar political project plans to intervene in twenty acts in 11 autonomous communities.

Díaz’s role in the campaign for the municipal and regional elections on the 28th has been the subject of debate over the last few weeks. The abysmal discrepancies that remain open between the leftist formations, and, in particular, between Podemos, the dismembered parties of this formation, Izquierda Unida and the new political platform of Díaz, are behind the controversy.

The problem is simple but complicated at the same time: given that in many territories these forces, which Díaz intends to unite in his platform, compete separately, his intervention in the campaign forces him to take sides.

For now it is certain that in Valencia he will have two interventions, one with the leader of Podemos in this community, Héctor Illueca, which will take place in Alicante, and another with the current mayor and candidate in Valencia, Joan Ribó, a member of Compromís.

One of the few territories where Díaz has an easy choice is Catalonia, where Podemos and Los Comunes concur in almost all cases jointly in their municipal candidacies.

At the opposite pole, in Madrid, Podemos and Más Madrid compete in almost all the municipalities and there it really is difficult to accompany any candidacy without breaking a plate.

However, in this community it will celebrate at least three events, one in Rivas, with Más Madrid, another in Alcorcón, where the number one candidate is from Podemos, and another during the San Isidro festival with the leader of Más Madrid, Mónica García.
