On Sunday 28 May are the 2023 municipal elections and El món a RAC1 and La Vanguardia will jointly hold the electoral debate, on Friday 12 May, from 9 a.m. to 10.30 a.m., live on RAC1 and in video streaming on RAC1.cat and LaVanguardia.com, from the auditorium of the CosmoCaixa Science Museum in Barcelona.

Jordi Basté, director and presenter of El món a RAC1, and Enric Sierra, deputy director of La Vanguardia, will be in charge of moderating this much-anticipated debate, in which seven candidates for the mayoralty of Barcelona will participate: Ernest Maragall (ERC), Ada Colau (BComú), Jaume Collboni (PSC), Xavier Trias (Together), Anna Grau (Citizens), Daniel Sirera (PP) and Eva Parera (Valents).

It will be a key debate in which the different mayors will be able to outline what their projects are for governing the city over the next four years. There will also be on the table the possible alliances that there may be, since the forecast is that it will be impossible to govern Barcelona without the sum of at least two political formations.

Listeners of El món on RAC1 who want to watch this electoral debate live at the Cosmo-Caixa will be able to get a double entry through the participation form in the draw. The form will open on May 4 and close on May 11, the day the program will draw tickets.

In addition, on the same Friday 12 May, during the same time, the electoral debates in the mayoralties of Girona, Lleida and Tarragona will be broadcast in the rest of the provincial capitals.

Since mid-April, La Vanguardia has also been holding 50 questions for the candidates, a cycle organized with the Barcelona Global association in which the candidates present their vision on the key issues of the future of the Catalan capital. La Vanguardia also moderates the meetings with the mayors organized by the Círculo Ecuestre, the Barcelona Tribuna and the breakfasts that have been held in recent weeks with the commercial association Barcelona Oberta and the Gremi de Restauració.
