In The Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia we can see the thousand and one faces that the full moon of flowers has shown us in this month of May.
In this series of images we can see from the lunar corona to how the sun has taken over from the full moon, just as it has hidden in the mist over the Mediterranean Sea.
The so-called Moon of the Flowers is that of May, because we are at the time when we can see the most flowery fields and gardens. It’s spring and it shows. The pre-Columbian cultures of America already referred to the full moon in the month of May as the Full Moon of Flowers.
In other years, the full moon in May coincided with the supermoon, as in 2021, but this is not the case in 2023. The next supermoon will be in July.
This Saturday at dawn on the beach of Gavà (Baix Llobregat), it has been possible to contemplate the setting of the moon. It was setting into the coastal fog in the Mediterranean Sea at the time this photograph was taken. Beautiful, fascinating.
