Yesterday Sunday they announced that storms were coming. Let’s hope so, and that’s how it seemed in this image for Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia, where blackness manifests itself at the top of the hermitage of Sant Francesc, on the beautiful top of the Montsacopa volcano in Olot.
Montsacopa is a volcano located inside the city of Olot, in the neighborhood of Sant Francesc, aligned between the Garrinada and Montolivet volcanoes, above the same fracture.
Next to its crater is the hermitage of Sant Francesc de PÃ dua, built during the 17th century, which is why it is also known by the name of the Sant Francesc volcano.
The Montsacopa that erupted about 100,000 years ago and its rounded crater is the product of a low-explosive Strombolian eruption first and a more explosive (phreatomagmatic) eruption later.
