Six months ago, the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, announced his separation from Sophie Grégoire after 18 years of marriage. Now, according to the English newspaper Daily Mail, the woman seems to have rebuilt her love life with the help of an Argentine doctor based in Ottawa (Canada).

The English newspaper confirmed that Grégoire, a former model and television presenter, has been living in the loft that pediatric surgeon Marcos Bettolli rented in a luxurious building in that Canadian city after separating from his wife, also Argentine Ana Remonda, in 2020.

According to the Mail, the apartment located on the third floor of the complex has become the second home of the children that Grégoire had with Trudeau: Xavier, 16 years old; Ella-Grace, 15; and Hadrien, who turns 10 at the end of the month.

The three boys were seen spending two nights with their mother at Bettolli’s home last weekend.

Last week, the news that had begun to circulate was that Grégoire had been dating the pediatric surgeon for months before her separation from Trudeau was announced, based on a divorce lawsuit filed against the doctor.

Bettolli is a 47-year-old pediatric surgeon, who works at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario and as an associate professor at the University of Ottawa, and who is embroiled in a bitter divorce battle with Remonda, 46.

According to a temporary order filed in November and obtained by the Daily Mail, Bettolli must pay about $10,000 a month in child support, private school fees and spousal support for the two daughters he has with Remonda, while the woman must pay Bettolli $991 a month in child support.

Although it is not clear how long Grégoire and Bettolli have been together, it appears that the relationship began at least a few months before she and Trudeau publicly announced their separation last August, according to the divorce proceedings being carried out by the doctor and his ex-wife. .

Remonda noted in her April 26, 2023 divorce petition before the Canadian court that her husband “has entered into a relationship with a high-profile person who attracts significant media attention and presents important security considerations, to which girls are exposed while in their father’s care.”

The woman alleged that Bettolli had not respected an agreement they had “that the girls would not interact with the new couple (…) and that has caused discomfort and anxiety in the girls.”

Bettolli replied in his response that Remonda’s attitude towards his new partner “is not the best for the girls” and stated that he had threatened to return to Argentina if the relationship “came to light.”

According to the divorce court file, after discovering their new relationship, Remonda accessed the doctor’s personal computer files and “threatened to publish private intimate photos of him.”
