Los Serrano is one of those mythical series that the Spanish public will never be able to get rid of. There are many fans of fiction who still miss its funny characters, despite the fact that fifteen years have passed since its controversial ending. A few weeks ago, the series returned to the present, since a large part of the cast was reunited thanks to Fran Perea, who reversed the mythical soundtrack, One plus one is 7. A few weeks later, the memory of the production returns to the today, but this time by the hand of Sara Brasal, the actress who played Yoli. The young woman assures Socialité that it was not easy for her to bring her character to life.
Brasal was very young when she played Yoli, Teté’s best friend, one of the most mythical characters in the series and played by Natalia Sánchez. Sara has exclusively revealed to Socialité that it was not easy for her to accept the role of Yoli. Currently, Brasal works as an assistant director and has been in well-known series, but she confesses to the aforementioned medium that she had no intention of devoting herself to acting.
It was then that he began to accompany his sister to the castings. Two years later, she entered the series, but not for the role she wanted, that of Tete, the interpretation that she had prepared for herself. “They call me and tell me that they have taken me to play the friend. Of course, when I read it, it says: ‘Yoli. Fat, with glass-bottom glasses, with braces on her teeth.’ Of course, she didn’t want to do that. I didn’t know that the character as such could help people. When you’re doing it, at 11 years old, you’re not aware,” the actress told Socialité.
The actress confessed that at first she did not agree with the role, since she had suffered bullying at school and she was afraid that her character would later influence reality. “Coming from bullying… They didn’t put my head in the toilet or hit me, what they did was leave me without friends. And on top of that I’m going to play ugly, fat… It was like buff, I don’t want it to go to the reality”, expressed the young woman during the interview.
Fortunately, Brasal points out how much the team of the series supported her so that she did not feel bad when it came to bringing the character to life. More than a decade after the end of this mythical production, the actress has spoken about her present. Sara revealed to the program that what she did was continue studying theater and do a master’s degree in Directing.
Little by little, he entered the world behind the cameras and managed to take small steps. “I live calmer without being exposed. I believe that having a job is never a failure, I believe that failure is martyring yourself with something that is not working out for you. Now I am moving forward, it is difficult to put your head in, but once you enter you are pulling and I am very happy”, she assured, happy to be able to continue dedicating herself to the cinema, although in a different way.
