The intervention took place at dawn last week, when agents operating in the Comprehensive External Surveillance System (SIVE) detected a suspicious semi-rigid boat that was sailing without lights towards the mouth of the Guadalquivir, for which reason it was immediately activated. a device to verify that it was a drug cache that was being transported.

In the interception operation, a helicopter from the Civil Guard Air Unit, a vessel from the Provincial Maritime Service of the Corps and troops on land were activated, as explained by the meritorious in a note.

The agents verified how the crew members of the high-speed boat, with four motors of 300 CV each, transferred the drug from the boat to the interior of one of the eel vessels stranded in the riverbed. As soon as they saw the civil guards they fled upriver at high speed.

For their part, the agents boarded the eel vessel, finding inside 134 burlap bales used to transport hashish. Once accounted for and a first weighing carried out, they yielded a weight of more than 4,000 kilos. At the same time, the ground patrols located the high-speed boat in the vicinity of the Martín Ruiz canal.

Both the hashish and the means of transport were transferred to the Port of Chipiona. So far no arrests have been made, although the operation remains open.
