In a dramatic event on the A-27 highway, the Mossos d’Esquadra were forced to intervene to rescue a cat in distress, which ended in a temporary stoppage of traffic on the road.
Sheila, a brave caregiver from the Revolución Pata organization, was the protagonist of this rescue, who spotted the feline while she was on her way to work.
According to Sheila in a video shared on social networks, the cat was in a desperate situation, with multiple fractures, unable to move and in imminent danger in the middle of the road. Given the difficulty in accessing the animal alone, she requested the intervention of the Mossos d’Esquadra, who quickly went to the scene and proceeded to cut off traffic in the affected lane.
With the help of Mossos agents, as well as other traffic and environmental collaborators, the caregiver managed to secure the cat in a carrier to take it to the veterinarian. Grateful for the support received, the young woman highlighted the collaboration and joint effort of the authorities to rescue the feline.
Once in the hands of veterinary professionals, it was discovered that the cat lacked an identification chip and also had multiple fractures that compromised its quality of life. Faced with this painful reality, the difficult decision was made to sacrifice the animal to avoid future suffering.
This tragic incident highlights the importance of collaboration between authorities and citizens in emergency situations, despite the fact that the feline’s life could not be saved, as well as the need to raise awareness about the care and protection of animals.
