The electoral ticket made up of Isabel Díaz Ayuso and José Luis Martínez-Almeida does not work as smoothly as the PP in Madrid would like. Despite the fact that both lead the polls, the absolute majority that the candidate for the Community borders on in all the polls seems to be far from the reach of the candidate for mayor of the capital. And that is why the regional president has turned to the councilor this Wednesday to ask the people of Madrid “not to divide the vote” at the polls to “collect all the support that is to the right of the left.”

At an informative breakfast organized by the Nueva Economía Forum in the capital, the regional president has shown her support for the mayor of the capital and has warned that “this is not the time to falter or to divide ourselves.” “We must continue with the maximum coordination” to “stand up and defend Madrid from Pedro Sánchez”, she has slipped by way of instruction for the conservative electorate.

Ayuso is aware that the possibility of the PP losing the capital again due to the push of Rita Maestre (Más Madrid) is real and he has spared himself the hot cloths: “Almeida needs a large majority as is the case in the Community. It needs and deserves room for maneuver without unexpected setbacks,” he exclaimed.

Almeida, for his part, thanked the determination of his regional head and praised his “capacity to inspire”: “It has been essential to be able to be a better mayor of Madrid; without you it would not have been the same. When we were appointed candidates we were received with indifference, but we achieved what nobody thought, which was to resist sanchismo, and we resisted sanchismo from an environment that was segmented into three different brands”, he stated.
