With great media expectation, the mayoress of Maracena and PSOE mayoral candidate, Berta Linares, attributes the accusation of her involvement in the kidnapping of a councilor from her City Hall to her ex-boyfriend with mental disorders and ensures that these accusations are part of the strategy of his former partner and his lawyer to get him out of jail.

In a press conference offered at the City Hall, Linares has insisted that everything is based “on the accusation of a person who she herself admits has a bipolar disorder” and that “we must not give them credit.” It is “a strategy that he and his lawyer are obviously trying to try to get out of prison,” she adds.

The current mayor has begun the appearance by saying that “it is very strange” that “after three months an extension of a summary proceeding, two days before a municipal election opens”, which in her opinion, will only disturb the result of the elections.

The socialist candidate to revalidate the position of mayoress has flatly denied her involvement in this complicated obstacle of which the details are being known. “I am totally innocent and have no connection to this tragedy,” she insists.

Our lawyers assure that “there is not a single indication that implicates any of the three of us”, he explains, and recalls that “none of the three are charged or investigated”, in reference to Noel López, current Secretary of Organization of the Andalusian PSOE and the Councilor for Town Planning, Antonio García Leyva, “Nono”, who are also affected by this case.

“The only thing the judge has done is to refer the case to the Superior Court of Justice” because Noel López is qualified, argues the mayor.

“To that opposition and that Popular Party”, Linares dedicates the last words of an appearance in which questions from journalists have not been allowed. “Less accusations and fewer falsehoods and that he does not intend to win in court, which is what he is trying to do, which he cannot achieve with work and good management.”
